Madam President congratulates Mrs. Peniel on her well-deserved award. She received last week, at the Hilton Hotel in Yaoundé, Cameroon, The International Grand Prize for Humanitarian Courage in War Zones.
Mrs. Peniel dedicated this award to all the children and families affected by war and crises in Africa. she said, “A day will come when the peace efforts of the African Union Commission will be rewarded. A day will come when Africa will be a true heaven of peace.”
These were her words :
”To all the women living in countries in crisis and suffering from war and violence, I want to tell you that you are not alone, you are not forgotten. We are with you, we support you and we fight for you to have access to justice, peace and stability.
I dedicate this award to all the women fighting for peace and justice in conflict zones. This award is a symbol of the importance of female solidarity and the need for us to support each other in our fight for peace and justice.
I want to remind you that charity, generosity and philanthropy are values that should guide us in our fight for peace and justice. We must support each other, help each other and encourage each other to build a better world for all’‘.
